Friends of Chappell open board meetings are the third Wednesday of every month. Board meeting dates for the 2019-2020 school year will be announced soon!
Our events are staggered throughout the year, with a mix of community building and fundraising. Where possible, we partner with local businesses so that our neighborhood can benefit, too.

Join in the fun to welcome families back to Chappell with a casual bring-your-own picnic! There will also be food available for purchase from delicious Sweet Virginia's Kitchen and Baobab BBQ. Plus, paletas, games and more! From 6 to 8 p.m. at Winnemac Park by the Chappell playground.
This annual event at the school is very well attended. Students can purchase a wrist band for unlimited games and fun! This year we will feature an upper grade lounge with pop a shot and other games. If you'd like to volunteer, please sign up at https://tinyurl.com/ChappellFallCarnival

Local business, the Davis Theater, hosts a fun movie day for Chappell families. Date and time will be announced closer to the event!
Roots Pizza (2200 W. Lawrence) will donate 20 percent of your bill to Chappell Elementary! If you can't dine in, place an order to go and Roots will donate 15 percent. Date and time to be announced closer to the event!
This is a great event for students and families! Students solicit donations and participate in fun dance lessons and contests in the Old Gym. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year!

Show our teachers how much they are appreciated! Help the committee by baking treats and brunch items, coordinating student thank you notes, soliciting donations, and helping with set up.
Chappell’s gardening program partners with Gardeneers, a nonprofit that provides curriculum support and garden maintenance, and complements and strengthens the existing school curriculum through garden education. They provide hands-on gardening lessons, discussions, arts and crafts and games centered around nutrition, community and environmental stewardship.
